It was quite fun introducing my gran to the concept of downloadable pdf patterns, and even more fun spending the day sewing with her.
We used a self bias binding around the arm and neck holes, but turned it around to the outside so it was visible.

ReplyDeleteHow cool is that! I don't get to sew with my grandmother, but I do have her sewing machine so I guess she's sort of sewing with me after all. The sorbetto and the choice of fabric looks great on your grandma!

What a fun way to spend a weekend, I do wish I'd had the chance to do things like that (my mum's mum sadly died before I was born and my dad's mum has no interest in sewing) but never mind, hopefully I can take this sort of lovely tradition forward. Go generational sewing!
