Happy New Year!

I'm not big on going out and having a big New Years Eve, last night was the first time in a few years that I actually went out (I went and had a picnic in a local park with some friends). I do, however, like New Years as a concept, it gives us a bit of a prompt to pause and take stock and consider how we can improve ourselves. With that in mind I am spending my New Years day having a bit of a clean, tidy and re-organise. Something I was desperately in need of after my hectic creating of the last week or so while I've been off work. Hopefully by the end of the day my flat will once again be organised and tidy and a space that I can create in peace.

Anyway, the real reason I decided to pop in and write a quick post today was to give you all a heads up of what I have planned for the next month or so, as with the Hollyburn sew-along things will be a bit different around here for a little while!

I plan on kicking off all things sew-along tomorrow, starting with some inspiration posts. I've also got posts planned about choosing your fabric, pattern adjustments, all the steps for sewing the skirt and some other bits of fun thrown in. As I mentioned before, the actual sewing is due to start on the 21st of Jan, and finish by the 1st of Feb, with a wrap-up of participants skirts in early Feb.

However, I have some non-hollyburn things to show as well (I have just had a week off work afterall!), so will be squeezing in some non-sew-along posts in there somewhere too, probably on weekends with sew-along stuff on weekdays. It's going to be a jam-packed January here at mymessings!

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to a fabulous 2013!!
